About Helen Wyer, Hypnotherapist
I have always been incredibly interested in the mind and how it works. I have always been passionate about making a difference and helping people develop and live their best lives. Being a Hypnotherapist gives me a great opportunity to do this.
I did not grow up wanting to be a hypnotherapist. In fact, I didn’t even realise there were such people or that it could be a viable career option. To me hypnosis was something carried out on stage to make people look silly and used purely for entertainment.

My passion for making a difference and helping people is how I come to be where I am today. Being able to support people through their challenges is a privilege. Everyday I am amazed at how powerful hypnotherapy can be. I can truly say that I love my job! At my practice, you are always the most important person and I will work with you to give you the most positive outcomes possible.

My training in hypnotherapy, coaching, neuro linguistic programming (NLP), mindfulness and many other therapeutic approaches means I have an ever-growing range of skills to tailor your therapy experience to suit you.

EXPERIENCE
Throughout my career, everything I have done has been people focused, helping them more forward with their lives. My training in London was extremely practical, allowing me to work under supervision, in a therapeutic setting with real clients right from the start. The training I did was accredited by The General Hypnotherapy Council and Complimentary Natural Healthcare Council for being robust and of a high standard. Since then I have been practising regularly from my therapy rooms in Ipswich seeing a wide range of issues and challenges. I have also been asked to join St Elizabeth Hospice practitioners list for wellbeing.
ACCREDITATIONS
I’m registered with the CNHC. This was set up by the Government to register and regulate complimentary healthcare practitioners and protect the public. All registered practitioners must meet the government standards for safe and competent practice. The GMC allows doctors or other medical professionals to refer patients to practitioners only if they are registered with CNHC.
I am also a member of the GHR which again ensures that training and practice meet necessary standards and that practitioners undertake regular supervision and further their experience and knowledge through attending CPD training.

My most recent training was with UK Hypnosis Academy for a technique known as Kinetic Shift. This technique is a powerful and quick technique to release negative feelings and trauma. It has recently been recognised by the Ministry of Defence for helping with PTSD.

I am also a certified IEMT practitioner. Integral Eye Movement Therapy is a fast and effective way to remove negative memories and feelings and the associated attachments to them. It can be used for any kind of trauma, PTSD as well as anxiety and depression. If the trauma is particularly upsetting, you don’t even need to talk about it in any detail.

I am also an OldPain2Go Certified Practitioner. This method is a totally safe way of removing pain that no longer serves a purpose. Pain has a purpose when it relates to a new problem or injury but when the injury has healed, the pain can linger around, unaware it’s not needed. Think of it like a fire alarm which would continue ringing even when the fire has been put out. The fire alarm would need to be reset. OldPain2Go resets the alarm on your pain. You must have been diagnosed by a medical professional who has prescribed or suggested pain relief or pain management.
My Promise To You
-
I am 100% dedicated to you and your challenges. My main aim is always to give you the skills and confidence to achieve your goals and dreams.
-
I will bring my warmth and caring personality to every session
-
My belief and attitude to hypnotherapy is that it is enjoyable to create powerful changes in your life and that you have all the resources that you need to create those changes.
-
I will only use therapeutic interventions that have robust, empirical evidence to support its efficacy.
-
I do not profess to be an expert at curing every and any known issue, because there are treatments that are better than hypnotherapy for some issues and ailments.
-
I commit to undergo ongoing supervision myself to ensure I am working to the best of my own abilities, being as diligent as possible and ensuring I work with a high level of integrity.
-
I regularly attend CPD events – with so many developments happening in this field, you would not want to work with someone who has not done anything else since training.
-
I’ll always ask your permission to use techniques or exercises with you to help you make progress.
-
I’ll support you every step of the way. I want you to succeed and believe you have everything within you to enable you to do so.
